How to Enroll Your Child
Give us a call at 781-598-4532 for general information and to discuss your child care needs.
If we can fit your needs, our staff will refer you to potential educators for interviews. The referrals are based on available openings, your child’s age, educator location, and hours of care requested.
Reach out to the educators and visit them with your child. This is a mutually beneficial process. It allows you to meet with the potential educator to make sure they are a good fit for your family and child.
After you have chosen an educator, please schedule an appointment with our main office to complete the enrollment forms, emergency, and medical information documents, as well as the parent/agency agreement for services.
You may need to obtain a voucher first from your Child Care Resource and Referral Agency generally the Child Care Circuit https://www.childcarecircuit.org/ before starting care.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Are Your Hours?
North Shore Family Daycare educators are open for 10-hour days beginning at 6:30 am, 7:00 am or 7:30 am. Children are generally enrolled on a 5-day per week, full-day basis, although we can occasionally accommodate shorter schedules.
How Many Children Does Each Educator Care For?
Educators are licensed for six, eight (including two school-aged children) or ten children (an assistant is required for ten children).
What Age Groups Does North Shore Family Daycare Accept?
We care for children age two months to 12 years. School-aged children who attend after school may be approved to participate for a full day when school is closed. If a child care educator is unavailable due to illness, vacation, or other needs, NSFD is usually able to offer care in an alternative child care home.

Billing and Payment Policy
Payments are due in advance of the care and may be paid on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis. NSFD accepts cash, credit/debit cards, checks, or money orders. Parents are billed for all enrolled childcare days regardless of attendance. Billing includes holidays, vacations, sick days, and snow days. Parents are not billed if the regular child care educator is unavailable, and the parent chooses not to request a substitute placement. Late fees are charged when a child is picked up past the educator’s closing time.
Rates
Voucher/Subsidized Rates
North Shore Family Daycare accepts income-based state vouchers. We offer state-subsidized contract slots for families who qualify. Subsidies are based on income and placement on the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care’s waitlist (KinderWait) for child care subsidies. Parents fees for Vouchers and Contract slots are determined by a sliding fee scale according to gross monthly income and family size and are determined on an individual basis.
