EDUCATOR BIOS

The Massachusetts Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) is a systemic approach to assess, improve, and communicate the level of quality in early education and school-age care programs.  Similar to rating systems for restaurants and hotels, QRIS awards quality ratings to early education and school-age programs that meet a set of defined program standards. These program standards and indicators of quality are determined by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and experts in the field of early education and child development.  Educators enter the QRIS system at Level I and strive to advance to a Level 4 rating.  By participating in the Massachusetts QRIS, educators embark on a path of continuous quality improvement.  In choosing to participate in the Massachusetts QRIS, even North Shore Family Daycare Educators at the lowest QRIS Level have made a commitment to achieve a level of quality in their programs that exceeds the minimum licensing requirements.
