About North Shore Family Daycare
North Shore Family Daycare is a system of educators who offer child care services in their homes. Every NSFD educator is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
Parents choosing NSFD have the security of knowing that the educator they select has been carefully screened by child care professionals. Agency staff with expertise in Early Childhood Education visit each educator on both a scheduled and unannounced basis. These visits help ensure that children are receiving the highest quality care.
NSFD educators offer safe and nurturing child care environments. They have all studied child growth and development. Most have earned the CDA (Child Development Associate) credential and many have earned an Associate’s or higher degree in Early Childhood Education. All educators are required to maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
Educators under contract with NSFD offer developmentally appropriate, thematic curriculum that engages children and prepares them for school. Opportunities for outdoor play, weather permitting, and regular physical activity occur daily. Educators are trained to screen children using the Ages & Stages screening tools, and regularly assess children’s skills using the GOLD assessment system. Meals and snacks meet federal nutrition guidelines.
Since 1985, North Shore Family Daycare’s mission has been to ensure that children, parents and educators have a positive and enriching day care experience.
